Group Billings Specialist I Position
The Group Billing Specialist Representative assist with managing all billing processes which includes overseeing payments for customers’ accounts. Their duties include processing payments for all policyholders and businesses accounts with maintaining organized financial records and reporting. Their duties also include answering phone calls, emails from customers to answer questions, process request for changes to a business account and maintaining expert knowledge about company products and processing guidelines.
The Billing Specialist is also responsible for managing daily workflow and supports the department with various functions.
- Assist with managing daily workflow and preparation of all incoming payments including the reconciliation and posting of all Direct and Group payments with high attention to detail and accuracy, scan checks for daily deposit to bank.
- Reconcile all payments and credit card detail at the end of each day.
- In constant communication with team concerning incoming documents, questions, and payments from agents and group contacts throughout the day.
- Answers and return calls from policyholders, agents, and group contacts effectively and professionally.
- Assist with the reissuance of checks including all proper follow up.
- Responsible for distribution and mailing of all outgoing letters and premium notices generated from the entire department.
- Follow up on delinquent groups by communicating with the payroll contact, agent and agency owner by phone and email.
- Investigate and respond to premium transaction disputes and bank return items.
- Watch for trends, issues, or potential fraud along with assisting with agent practice investigation.
- Assists with complaint research, follow-up, and resolution.
- Complete assigned projects in the planned timeframe.
- A high level of integrity, confidentiality, flexibility, and support of management is always expected.

- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

- Ability to work full time and/or part time based on the position specifications.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 - 5 years customer service and finance experience required.
