Job Summary
The Director of Procurement is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing Sotera Health’s global procurement strategy. This leader will drive meaningful business impact by building strong cross‑functional partnerships, advancing procurement capabilities, and aligning category strategies with company objectives across all business units. As a strategic partner to leaders throughout the organization, the Director will ensure that procurement initiatives support enterprise goals related to growth, cost optimization, and risk management.
The role will focus on building new and optimizing existing sourcing strategies, enhancing procurement processes, and developing performance frameworks to measure Procurement’s effectiveness and impact.
Lead the development of short‑ and long‑term procurement strategies and objectives. Partner with business unit leaders to create category strategies that support and align with enterprise objectives. Position Procurement as a strategic business partner and ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
Cross‑Functional Partnership & ImpactFormalize strategic partnerships with key functions including Finance, Engineering, Operations, IT, and Facilities to proactively identify cost‑saving and value‑creation opportunities. Establish performance metrics and success frameworks to evaluate team effectiveness and procurement’s impact on the broader business. Collaborate across teams to identify and implement process improvements across the requisition‑to‑pay cycle.
Operational Excellence & GovernanceLead enterprise‑wide sourcing initiatives and support complex, high‑value procurement efforts. Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes, systems, and governance structures. Maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers and ensure alignment with business needs and risk mitigation strategies.
Team LeadershipLead and develop the procurement team, strengthening its role as a strategic partner by enhancing capabilities in strategic sourcing, category management, and cross‑functional collaboration. Foster a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
Qualifications- Education: BS or BA required. MBA desirable. CPM, CPIM preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in Business, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, or Consulting. Demonstrated management capabilities, especially in leading strategic initiatives, driving performance, leading change, and producing superior results.
- Characteristics: Team player, cooperative, unselfish, corporately minded. Strong communicator who interprets and conveys details into concise, actionable items. High level of intelligence, critical and analytical thinking, vision, foresight, intuition. Change agent able to initiate action, overcome obstacles, drive projects from start to finish.
