Ohio Machinery Co. is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead both people and portfolios—someone who combines a strong process‑improvement discipline with the ability to drive execution across complex, cross‑functional initiatives. This role is a fit for a project leader who enjoys developing others, shaping priorities with senior leaders, and ensuring high‑impact work gets done well.
What You’ll Do:- Lead and develop a team of Project Managers, including coaching, goal setting, performance management, and hiring
- Own a portfolio of enterprise projects delivering measurable operational, financial, and customer outcomes
- Partner with leaders to define priorities, establish charters, and sequence work across the organization
- Provide clear visibility into project pipelines, risks, dependencies, and timelines
- Step in as a leader on complex or at‑risk projects when needed
- Drive consistency in project and portfolio management practices, tools, and reporting
- Champion a continuous improvement, value‑driven, and Agile mindset across teams
- Proven leader of both projects and people, with a track record of developing high‑performing teams
- Strong background in process improvement and cross‑functional project delivery
- Comfort influencing senior leaders and teams without direct authority
- Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills
- Ability to balance strategy, people leadership, and execution in a fast‑paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, or related field (required)
- 8-12+ years of progressive experience in project management, program management, or operations leadership
- 3+ years of direct people leadership experience (required)
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise‑level, cross‑functional programs with significant business impact
- Advanced experience in continuous improvement methodologies
- PMP or equivalent certification required
- Proven experience managing project portfolios
- Strong financial acumen, including business case development and benefit realization tracking
- Master’s degree (MBA or related discipline)
- Experience operating in multi‑site, enterprise, or highly matrixed environments
- Background leading large‑scale transformation initiatives or strategic programs
- Advanced knowledge of Lean, Agile, and portfolio management frameworks
- Experience with executive‑level reporting and governance structures
- Track record of building or scaling project management or continuous improvement functions
- Experience managing budgets, capital projects, or P&L‑impacting initiatives
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
The work environment is typically quiet in office settings, with moderate to occasionally loud noise in other environments.
