Customer Service Representative

Essential Duties

Perform a variety of retail responsibilities to support store operations. These include:

• Provide prompt, courteous, and friendly customer service, greeting guests and offering assistance or recommendations.
• Ring up all sales accurately at the cash register, handle money, checks, and other payment types.
• Operate multi‑function equipment such as fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions, and beverage dispensers.
• Maintain the store’s cleanliness and equipment condition through routine housekeeping and safety inspections.
• Complete merchandising tasks: build‑to orders, receive and verify deliveries, maintain adequate inventory, rotate stock, and place advertising and pricing signage.
• Control merchandise, cash shortages, and selling expenses; assist with inventory levels and shift audits.
• Keep accurate cash, sales, and inventory records, and report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
• Report incidents—including employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or unsafe conditions—to the Store Manager.
• Maintain shift and timekeeping paperwork, attend required meetings, and attend consistently to work shifts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Experience in retail sales (preferred).
• Ability to accurately operate a range of equipment including cash registers, scanners, and dispensing machines.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality; ability to work scheduled hours, including irregular hours if required.
• Effective communication skills to convey information clearly to coworkers and customers.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described in the Physical Requirements section.

• Exposed to cold or warm temperature extremes, occasional work in walk‑in cooler/freezer.
• Occasional lifting/carrying up to 30lbs from ground to overhead and up to 50lbs from ground to waist.
• Capacity to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands; push/pull up to 20lbs.
• Ability to overhead reach, bend, twist at waist, and stoop, kneel, squat.
• Openness to work alone, expose to occasional noise, stand, or walk whole shift.
• May require climbing a ladder for storage or sign removal.

• Approximately 95% of work performed indoors; occasional tasks outside such as cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, garbage removal.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures in walk‑in coolers/freezers.
• Work conducted with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Hiring Range: $15.00 to $15.50.
