Position DetailsAs a Bricklayer for RAM Construction Services, you will assist in the revitalization and construction of surrounding areas. You must be able to read specifications, determine accurate layouts, mark guidelines, mix mortar to acceptable consistency, and perform essential duties satisfactorily. The duties below are representative and not limited to the position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Interpret work orders and determine required materials.
- Measure distances from reference points.
- Calculate angles and establish vertical and horizontal alignments of courses.
- Lay bricks using mortar and a trowel to level.
- Perform duties such as laying brick, block, and terra cotta; tuck point; grind mortar joints; stone patch; caulk; and weld.
- Work safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights.
- Lift objects or materials weighing 60+ pounds.
- Assist other skilled trade workers (caulking, waterproofing, etc.) in their performance.
- Use equipment and tools effectively to perform basic construction tasks (hand tools and small power tools).
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (minimum education).
- Minimum one year of industry experience on construction sites.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools, with at least five years’ experience specifically in limestone, granite, terra cotta, and Jahn patching.
- Problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physically fit to stand for long periods.
- Reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License (a valid CDL A is a plus).
- Proper tools: 2’ and 4’ level pointing tools, hawk, 3 lb hammer, brick hammer, safety harness, tape measure, cape chisel, flat chisel, brick trowel, margin trowel, and jointer.
Some travel is required to surrounding job sites. A per diem for travel and overnight stays will be provided as applicable.
TechnologySome technology use may be required. Training will be provided on how to use required software, equipment, and tools.
Work EnvironmentThe job may involve seasonal temperatures, high spaces, small spaces, loud and frequent noises, standing/walking for up to 12 hours a day, indoor/outdoor settings, and areas close to traffic.
Following InstructionsAdhere to instructions from superintendents, project managers, and construction plans and blueprints.
CleanlinessMaintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area.
Safety ComplianceFollow all RAM health and safety regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
