Position: Associate Estimator I C&I

The Associate Estimator I C&I is responsible for various tasks within project cost estimation for commercial/industrial electrical construction. Responsibilities include assisting in developing accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals.

Essential

Functions
  • Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and inputting them into the computer estimating system.
  • Understand and monitor program scope of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines.
  • Schedule and attend field job walks with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirements.
  • Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes; review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications.
  • Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages, including subcontract work, equipment rental, tools, supplies, and schedule.
  • Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders.
  • After a successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes, and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project.
  • Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate figures.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties in a company‑designated office or field location.
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry‑specific professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; a combination of relevant education and experience is considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects and services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Team‑player mentality.
