Executive Team Leader – Assets Protection

Target seeks an experienced leader to protect guests, team members and the brand through proactive security, crisis response, and theft prevention. The role drives safe and secure culture, manages investigations, and partners with store leadership to achieve profitability and outstanding guest service.

• Drive store sales and profitability by ensuring product availability and mitigating theft risks.
• Lead safe‑and‑secure culture, including crisis response, emergency planning, and crowd‑management.
• Educate store leaders and teams on emergency preparedness and physical‑security procedures.
• Identify shortage risks and develop strategies to reduce loss and increase sales.
• Serve as the primary resource for AP initiatives within the district/market.
• Lead investigative and verbal‑de‑escalation trainings; maintain all required training records.
• Manage internal investigations, conduct interviews, and support external investigations for theft and fraud.
• Anticipate theft and shortage trends, develop proactive prevention strategies, and adjust staffing accordingly.
• Coordinate with Store Director and partnerships to leverage market insights and guest feedback.
• Plan, lead, and follow up on operational changes, ensuring accountability and performance management.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop AP team leaders, fostering skills and expertise.
• Communicate AP priorities, including shortage priorities, to teams and stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of safety, recognize safe behaviors, identify hazards, investigate injuries, and implement corrective action.
• Act as first responder for in‑store incidents (security, weather, etc.).
• Deliver a guest‑centric shopping experience and uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion values.
• Perform all duties as required by business needs.

• 4‑year degree or equivalent experience.
• Meet state or local licensure and other legal requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong business acumen and quantitative analysis capability.
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and prioritizing tasks independently.
• Experience in recruiting, selecting, and talent management of hourly team members and leaders.
• Ability to access areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Capacity to lift or move merchandise up to 40 pounds and climb ladders.
