Night Electro-Mechanical Technician – Newly Weds Foods

Maintenance Department

Job Description

Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on all production and building equipment. Responsible for troubleshooting, programming, repairs, and new installations of PLCs, AC/DC motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and other plant machinery. Work to improve equipment reliability as part of the maintenance team.

Essential Functions
  • Fill out daily log reports, emergency breakdown reports, and work orders; communicate with incoming shifts.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Work on DC and up to 480 VAC equipment, starters, motors, VFDs, sensors, controllers, photo‑eyes, and more.
  • Install, debug, and stabilize plant equipment as required.
  • Read schematics and blueprints to diagnose electrical issues and make safe repairs.
  • Execute repairs, upgrades, and new installations of machinery to ensure proper operation.
  • Support installation, analysis, and acceptance of new equipment.
  • Test electro‑mechanical assemblies with test instruments.
  • Read and interpret HMI panels to troubleshoot production line faults.
  • Install electronic parts and hardware using soldering equipment and hand tools.
  • Operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment.
  • Assist with Production/Maintenance assignments as needed.
  • Communicate issues and solve problems with Production staff, addressing quality and safety concerns.
  • Perform electrical and distribution lock‑out/tag‑out according to safety protocols.
  • Ensure all electro‑mechanical safety requirements are met.
  • Participate in overtime assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Maintenance Technology, Electro‑Mechanics, or equivalent education, experience, and training.
  • 1–5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial electrical systems and maintenance best practices; familiarity with OSHA, safety regulations, and related standards.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Safety, Environmental, & GMP Objectives
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with established policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies, including OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Other compliance responsibilities:
    • Recognize unsafe acts and conditions and implement corrective actions.
    • Complete necessary paperwork related to job functions and safety training.
    • Recognize and report all incidents, even those not requiring treatment.
  • Review and execute the Food Safety Plan and MFP Mission Statement to provide safe, high‑quality food products.
  • Apply good manufacturing practices (GMPs) concerning waste disposal, attire, grooming, and hygiene.
  • Establish and track metrics for sustainability projects that improve energy usage, emissions, water, and waste footprints.
  • Understand that employees are not authorized to represent the company or respond to media inquiries.
  • Note that duties may change at any time with or without notice.
  • Recognize that the job is performed in industrial production areas with exposure to strong aromas, airborne dust, temperature extremes, and heights up to 60 ft.

Pay Rate: $26.50 to $39.79

Hours: Monday–Thursday: 4 pm to 4 am
