Heavy Equipment Operator

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Valid operators license and Heavy Equipment Operator Certification. Possess a Class 5 drivers license, air brakes and/or A1 are considered an asset. Minimum of 2 years experience operation heavy equipment, including graders, backhoes, and trucks (sewage pump-out, waterhauling, or similar).

Kahkewistahaw First Nation is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Public Works team. The successful candidate will operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment, including sewage pump-out trucks, water hauling trucks, graders, backhoes, and crushing equipment, to support community infrastructure and maintenance projects. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and providing essential services to enhance the quality of life for community members.

Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic equipment maintenance. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and working in various weather conditions. Knowledge of workplace safety and health regulations, with a focus on safe equipment operation.
