Staff Accountant- Commercial Roofing

Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will support the company’s financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll processing, account reconciliation, and assistance with month‑end and year‑end closures. The role collaborates closely with the Accounting team and operational locations to monitor and enforce policies, procedures, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has prior experience in an accounting role, preferably in construction or manufacturing, strong analytical skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for three separate organizations.
• Complete accounts payable processes, including weekly check processing.
• Process weekly payrolls and all associated reports, filings, and documents.
• Maintain payroll-related reports such as Paid Time Off tracking, tax funding, 401(k) funding, Certified Payroll reporting, audits, and other required reports.
• Verify monthly sales commissions.
• Post and reconcile bank deposits, ACH, and credit card payments.
• Record financial transactions via journal entries and assist in the month‑end close process.
• Assist in completion of special projects.
• Prepare Multi‑State Sales and Use Tax returns.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related studies (preferred) or equivalent related experience.
• 3‑5 years of experience in an accounting/finance function, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
• Extensive knowledge of payroll and accounts payable functions, including balancing accounts and internal controls. Experience with prevailing wage payroll strongly preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment and juggle multiple projects.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Self‑starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

• Office environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature.
• Extensive sitting, standing, bending, and walking. Ability to lift more than 25 lbs. on occasion.

$73,000‑$83,000 annually. This range represents a good faith estimate; actual compensation will be based on knowledge, skills, training, and experience. The position may also be eligible for bonuses, benefits, and other forms of compensation.
