RMS International is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and proactive Assistant Sales Manager to support the growth and execution of key retail accounts. This role serves as a critical bridge between Sales Managers and cross-functional teams, helping drive product development, customer communication, forecasting accuracy, and post-purchase order execution.

The Assistant Sales Manager will play a hands-on role in managing timelines, coordinating product launches, supporting customer meetings, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth communication between internal departments and retail partners. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys relationship management, and has strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Sales Managers in the day-to-day management of key retail accounts
  • Oversee post-purchase order execution to ensure projects remain on schedule and customer expectations are met
  • Serve as a point of contact for customer communication related to product updates, timelines, approvals, and issue resolution
  • Attend and contribute to customer-facing meetings, product kickoff meetings, and internal strategy discussions
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Product Development, and other internal teams to ensure timely execution of projects
  • Manage and track pre-production samples, approvals, and customer-driven product revisions
  • Monitor timelines, product development milestones, and reporting tools to maintain accurate forecasting and operational visibility
  • Assist with sales reporting, profitability tracking, and forecast reconciliation
  • Help identify opportunities for product expansion, new item development, and account growth
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of product setup documentation and internal systems
  • Support operational troubleshooting related to product delivery, quality concerns, and customer requests
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, buyers, and internal stakeholders through consistent communication and follow-through
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in sales support, account management, retail sales, retail buying, merchandising, product development, consumer goods experience, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Comfortable participating in customer-facing meetings and presentations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with major retail accounts
  • Experience managing product timelines, forecasting, or reporting
  • Background in consumer products, toy, gift, or retail industries
  • Familiarity with cross-functional product development processes
