HEARTWAP Outreach Coordinator

Self Help Inc. is currently looking for a HEARTWAP Outreach Coordinator to join our team.

Self Help, Inc. is a nonprofit Community Action Agency (CAA) created to help families and individuals stabilize and secure their lives through education, strategic assistance, and building opportunities in their communities. We provide a range of services for families and households across Southeast Massachusetts.

Job Summary

The AMP/WAP Outreach Coordinator assists clients and potential clients in obtaining services that help improve their home energy efficiency, including electrical energy audits, light bulb and appliance upgrades, and weatherization programs that improve insulation and weatherproofing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients requesting services.
  • Monitor referrals from the Statewide Call Center and update the database.
  • Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of services provided.
  • Coordinate pre-authorization paperwork with clients.
  • Screen clients for available services and services already provided.
  • Prepare electronic files for upcoming audits.
  • Schedule appointments for various inspections.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funding source requirements.
  • Prepare referrals for heating system and heat pump‑eligible clients.
  • Complete required documentation and submit to Director in a timely manner.
  • Maintain program records according to established standards.
  • Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funding source requirements, as well as Self Help Inc. policies and procedures.
  • Schedule additional appointments as necessary.
  • Attend and participate in engagement team meetings as requested and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas.
Other Requirements
  • Must pass a criminal background check and other required clearances.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to meet insurance standards for transportation.
Schedule
  • Monday‑Friday
  • The position is office based and the Outreach Coordinator will have direct contact with clients served by Self Help Inc. in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services or by the public utilities.

Hourly Rate: $20‑$22

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate technical terms to a diverse client base.
  • Strong computer skills;
    Microsoft Office and Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Ability to calculate dimensions, area and volume.
  • Commitment to working with people of different backgrounds and income levels.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
  • Ability to work in sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. frequently and up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
Education & Experience
  • High School or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field.
  • 1‑2 years of relevant experience.
