Schedule:
* Before School Program:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 8:45 AM
* After School Program:
Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Important Requirement:
Applicants must be available to begin work at 3:30 PM for the after-school Smart Start Extended Day program.
Compensation:
Compensation will be paid according to the Community Schools Salary Schedule and is based on the employee's educational level. Hourly rates range from $23 to $29 per hour.
Job Description:
Contingent upon continued funding and program enrollment, the Smart Start Extended Day Program is seeking support staff for the school year, during vacation and summer days, at the following schools:
Angelo, Arnone, Baker, Brookfield, Davis, Downey, George, Gilmore, Hancock, Kennedy, and Raymond. This is a twelve-month program that may require working during school and summer vacations.
Support staff assigned to the Smart Start Extended Day Program will be expected to begin their scheduled shift at 3:30 PM on program days.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Support students during homework completion and academic enrichment activities.
2.Assist with recreational and project-based learning activities.
3.Work with students in a supportive manner to help develop positive values and enhance self-esteem.
4.Collaborate with site coordinators and program staff to create a positive learning environment.
5.Adhere to required EEC regulations for funded programs, including background checks and required documentation.
6.Perform other duties as assigned by program supervisors and the Coordinator of Smart Start Extended Day Programs.
Job Requirements:
* Previous experience working in the Smart Start Extended Day or after-school program preferred
* Ability to work collaboratively with students and staff
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
