Schedule:
* Before School Program:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 8:45 AM
* After School Program:
Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Important Requirement:
Applicants must be available to begin work at 7:00 AM and/or at 3:30 PM.
Compensation:
* BEA members:
According to contract
* Non-BEA Instructors: $33.00/hour
* BEA Retirees: $39.70/hour
Job Description:
The Smart Start Extended Day Program is seeking qualified teachers and instructors (non-BEA staff) for the school year. Staff will support students in a safe, engaging, and enriching environment through academic support, recreational activities, and project-based learning.
This is a school-year position that may require working during school vacations and summer programming.
Qualifications:
* Experience working with school-age children preferred
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
* CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
* Must be able to report promptly for scheduled program hours, including a 3:30 PM start time for after-school programming
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Plan and implement daily academic enrichment, recreational, and project-based activities.
2.Assist students with homework completion and academic support.
3.Create a positive and supportive environment that promotes student growth and self-esteem.
4.Work collaboratively with program staff to maintain a safe and enriching learning environment.
5.Maintain attendance and required program documentation.
6.Follow all district and Community Schools policies and procedures.
7.Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Smart Start Extended Day and by the Director of Community Schools.
