INCLUSION SUPPORT STAFF for  Extended Day Program

Brockton Public Schools Brockton Community Schools – Brockton, Massachusetts

Job Description

The role of Inclusion Support Staff is to support students with exceptional learning needs who are participating in the Smart Start Extended Day program before and/or after school. Staff will assist in creating a safe, structured, and inclusive environment that promotes positive student engagement and social-emotional growth.

Program Schedule
  • Before School Program:
    Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 8:45 AM
  • After School Program:
    Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Important Requirements
  • Applicants must be available to begin work at 6:45 AM and/or 3:30 PM for the after-school Smart Start Extended Day program.
  • Applicants must have experience working requiring 1:1 support.
Qualifications
  • Successful school-based experience working with elementary students.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification required within two months of start.
  • Experience working with SPED students preferred.
  • Preference will be given to support staff working in a special needs classroom.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, structured snack time at the beginning of the program by meeting students in the cafeteria and organizing snack distribution.
  • Attend one 30-minute meeting per week as needed.
  • Support teachers’ implementation of lessons and activities.
  • Interact positively with students to promote self-esteem and positive values.
  • Work collaboratively with staff members to create a safe and enriching learning environment.
  • Utilize the SOMROLI payroll system to check in/out each shift and maintain accurate work hour records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by site supervisors and/or district coordinators.
  • Compensation

    $33 per hour
