Job DescriptionBrockton High School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Chamber Singers Advisor to support a small, student‑led choral ensemble.
About Chamber SingersThe Chamber Singers are an after‑school select ensemble specializing in advanced choral literature spanning the Renaissance through Modern periods. The group emphasizes student leadership, musical independence, and high‑level performance.
Key Responsibilities- Work with student leadership to audition and select students for membership in the ensemble
- Oversee weekly rehearsals from September through March
- Guide students in choosing appropriate repertoire
- Provide musical coaching, including vocal technique and interpretation
- Support and mentor student leadership within the ensemble
- Conduct and facilitate weekly rehearsals
- Prepare students for concerts and competitions
- Experience in choral music (education, performance, or conducting)
- Knowledge of diverse choral repertoire
- Ability to work collaboratively with student musicians
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Approximately 50 hours of work from September through March.
Performance Responsibilities- BHS Spring Chorus Concert
- Massachusetts Instrument and Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) Festival
Stipend: $2,000
