Job Description

New Heights Charter School is Massachusetts’ only public school that involves all grades (6‑12) in the Early College approach. Nearly all our 11th and 12th graders are full‑time students on a college campus with younger students earning college credits at the school. You will join a committed, creative team of educators who provide academic and social‑emotional support to young people coming from high‑need backgrounds, ensuring they are college and career ready.

We support our staff with a wide array of professional development opportunities and coaching.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Academic Leadership Team, you will take a lead role in the development and fine‑tuning of our curriculum, instructional protocols and procedures, observations and evaluations, school policies, and enrichment activities. You will support the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and Principal in the overall administration of the educational programs, overseeing the implementation of a high‑level, standards‑based instructional program and learning environment from early high school to early college.

You will promote close working relationships with parents, students, and staff, and keep the CAO and Principal informed about emerging issues.

Instructional

Leadership
  • Assist the CAO and Principal in providing exemplary leadership to all school community members to achieve outstanding performance in preparing each student for college
  • Assist in developing and communicating strategic school systems, culture, and vision, and building a plan to achieve that vision
  • Assist in leading all aspects of Data‑Driven Instruction (DDI), Leading Professional Development (PD), and Observation & Feedback (OF)
  • Assist in implementing effective assessment systems and using data to inform decisions; curriculum development and assessment; and ensuring consistency within the school program and alignment with state and other rigorous standards
Teacher Coaching & Evaluation (Math/Science)
  • Assist the Principal in providing school‑wide leadership and the Executive Director in any directed district‑related responsibilities
  • Conduct daily teacher observations and provide real‑time feedback to move the needle on student achievement in conjunction with grade‑level and/or instructional leaders
