Now looking to build our Power Scholars team for the Summer of 2026!

Our senior enrichment leaders will work:

June 24th-July 31st

Mondays: 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Tuesdays-Fridays: 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Under the supervision of the Enrichment Services Coordinator the Senior Enrichment Instructor will assist in supervising the program and ensuring a safe, healthy, and constructive environment for all children involved in the program. In addition, the Senior Enrichment Instructor will ensure that all areas of responsibilities of the job reflect the mission beliefs of the Old Colony Y. S/He will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency.

The Senior Enrichment Instructor will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties.

Program Responsibility:

• Understand and ensure Brockton Public Schools (BPS) policies and regulations as well as Old Colony Y policies (Child and Youth Care policy, Child Guidance Policy, Health Care Policy) are maintained at all times.
• Assist with planning, developing, and implementing the program curriculum in accordance with BPS regulations and Old Colony YMCA'S policies.
• Lead enrichment activities according to the quality requirements of the Old Colony Y and the prescribed curriculum that is planned each week.
• Collaborate with Teacher and the Para to ensure enrichment activities incorporate social emotional learning and are delivered with a trauma-informed lens.
• Assist with developing and writing curriculum including Y Chat, Asset Curriculum and CDLI Curriculum.
• Maintain proper behavior of children at all times with strict adherence to both the YMCA Child Guidance Policy, and the Child Care Policy.
• Act in a public relations capacity when communicating with parents, school personnel and colleagues.
• Act as a positive role model.
• Help maintain attendance records and all necessary reports.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with school or other site-specific personnel.

Education/Experience/Physical Requirements:

• Minimum of 18 years of age, and have at least 1 year of school age experience.
• Have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
• Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.

• Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
• Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
• Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
• Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas:
  Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker
