New Heights Charter School is Massachusetts’ only public school that encourages all students to earn free college credits while in high school. Nearly all 11th and 12th graders are full‑time students on a college campus, while younger students earn college credit at the school. The role provides academic and social‑emotional support to students from high‑need backgrounds, preparing them for college and careers.

Staff collaborate in curriculum development, policy refinement, and enrichment activities, supported by generous professional development and coaching opportunities.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning across core, elective, and advisory periods.
• Use technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom, establishing routines and rituals.
• Encourage, monitor, and provide feedback on students’ progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate and complete grade books and other anecdotal records of students’ academic and behavioral progress.
• Communicate consistently with parents regarding student progress and behavior via phone or electronic means, and at parent-teacher conferences.
• Participate in department and school meetings, instructional coaching, parent conferences, and leadership opportunities for teachers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: $50,000 to $104,000 Per Year

Competitive teacher pay scale: $50k for a Bachelor’s degree, $60k for a Master’s, and $65k for a Doctorate.
