Job Description

The Program Manager is responsible for advising Boston College students about study abroad opportunities in assigned regions. Regions will likely include Ireland, Italy, and summer internships with the Vatican.

Advising duties for outgoing BC students include assisting with program selection of both BC and approved external programs, navigating the application process, providing information and advice on curricular infrastructure and course offerings, and tailoring pre‑departure orientations. The Program Manager will organize and execute help with visa processes, communicate regularly with students while they are abroad, and coordinate with relevant BC faculty advisors, parents, and host university staff.

They will also manage reintegration activities, evaluate, and report on the study abroad experience.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the Program Manager collaborates closely with other study abroad program managers in the Office of Global Education and works with multiple on‑site resident directors. The Program Manager frequently engages with host universities and partners and coordinates with senior OGE leadership to monitor and develop programs ensuring they meet BC students’ academic and personal needs.

The Program Manager leads the office in promoting education abroad within the BC community, including outreach to students who have historically been underrepresented in study abroad. The role requires the Program Manager to assist in drafting and implementing an outreach strategy.
