Automotive Instructor – Put Your Experience to Work (No Teaching Experience Needed)

Are you an experienced automotive technician who's tired of flat-rate pressure, weekend shifts, and the physical grind of the shop?

This is your opportunity to stay in the industry you love, share your real-world knowledge, and build a stable, rewarding career training the next generation of automotive professionals.

We're looking for skilled technicians — not career teachers. If you know the trade, we'll teach you how to teach.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Automotive Instructor, you'll bring hands-on shop experience into the classroom and lab, teaching students how the industry truly operates — not just what's written in a manual.

You will:

  • Teach hands-on automotive repair and diagnostic skills using real vehicles and shop equipment
  • Demonstrate proper safety procedures, tool usage, and repair techniques
  • Share troubleshooting strategies, customer service insights, and workflow best practices
  • Mentor students at various skill levels — from entry-level to advanced learners
  • Prepare students for industry certifications (ASE and state licensing where applicable)
  • Participate in paid training and ongoing professional development
  • Work independently while receiving support from an experienced education team

No lesson plans from scratch, no education degree required — we provide curriculum, training, and support.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience
  • ASE Certifications required within 6-12 months of hire
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostics, electrical systems, engine performance, and repair procedures
  • Ability to work independently and manage your day
  • Strong communication and organization skills

Why This Role?

• No flat-rate stress. No weekend shop hours

  • Formal and on-the-job training to become an instructor
  • Make a meaningful impact on students' lives and careers
  • Extend your automotive career without the physical strain of daily shop work
  • If you're ready to step out of the service bay without stepping away from the industry, this could be the next great chapter of your career.
