- General Carpentry
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated High School Carpentry Teacher to join the CTE department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about educating and inspiring students. This role involves developing and delivering engaging curriculum, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and preparing students for college and careers in Carpentry and related fields.
Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Development and Instruction:
- Design and implement a comprehensive Carpentry curriculum aligned with state and national standards.
- Teach various Carpentry courses, including introductory and advanced levels.
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize project-based learning and real-world applications to make Carpentry concepts accessible and engaging.
- Student Engagement and Support:
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to help students achieve their academic and career goals.
- Guide students in hands‑on projects, experiments, and challenges that enhance their problem‑solving skills.
- Professional Development and
Collaboration: - Stay current with developments in Carpentry education and integrate new teaching methods and technologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the department to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development sessions, and contribute to the school's extracurricular
programs, such as clubs or competitions.
- Evaluate and assess student progress through tests, quizzes, projects, and other formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance, attendance, and grades.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress and concerns.
- Valid teaching certification or license in secondary education with a focus on Carpentry
- Previous teaching experience at the high school level is highly desirable.
- Professional experience in a Carpentry field.
- Strong knowledge of Carpentry principles, practices, and technologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students with diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
- Proficiency in using educational technology.
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $58,552 to $121,921 Per Year
