Brockton Public Schools is looking for a Grade 4 Sheltered English Immersion "Launch" Teacher at Raymond Elementary School.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
- Open and prepared to support newcomer students with early English language proficiency
- Excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents
- Ability to collect and interpret data for instructional purposes
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with WIDA and CCSS Standards
- Provide elementary school multilingual learners in self-contained setting with content and language learning
- Develop and implement Sheltered Instruction lesson plans aligned to student proficiency levels and grade level standards
- Participate in professional development trainings and collaborate with the assigned English language acquisition coach
- Massachusetts DESE licensure in ESL (PK-6) AND Elementary (1-6)
Preferred qualifications:
Graduate Degree in ESL, Applied Linguistics, Language and Literacy, or Culture
Familiarity with WIDA ACCESS data and assessments
Knowledge of additional language(s) helpful but not required
