Essential Responsibilities
- Work with site leadership to execute contractual obligations per customer requirements and daily activities, including any portion of the electrical and mechanical equipment used in the GE wind turbine generators.
- Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable‑pitch and variable‑speed turbines.
- Assist in all areas of site operations as directed by management with minimal supervision.
- Perform diagnostic electrical analysis.
- Document all work performed using computer‑based service reporting procedures.
- Respond to GE’s remote operations center when required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Wind Technician.
- Minimum 3 years of experience troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and basic power hydraulic tools, plus basic computer skills.
- Past leadership of field teams.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to handle repetitive weight up to 50 lbs and climb towers up to 300 feet daily.
- Meet manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs including required gear.
- Understanding of electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
- Willingness to work in varied environments such as industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities.
- Technical certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic fields.
- Wind turbine experience.
- Initiative and ability to work without direct supervision.
- Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience.
- Experience using hydraulic power tools.
- Experience with heavy equipment maintenance, crane and rigging requirements.
The position is not remote. The work location includes all wind sites within the Vineyard Wind Hub and requires reporting to any site as assigned by management.
For U.S. based positions, the base pay ranges from $47.13 to $52.91 per hour.
