Staff Fuel Cycle & Blanket Test Engineer
The Staff Fuel Cycle Blanket Test Engineer is responsible for leading the operation, testing, and maintenance of laboratory systems related to fusion fuel cycle and molten salt technology development, including building capabilities, developing test plans, and supporting system commissioning and training efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, test, and maintain laboratory systems for fusion fuel cycle and molten salt technology development
- Develop test plans and commissioning procedures for system integration and operational readiness
- Lead or contribute to major system test campaigns and support facility commissioning testing
- Build new capabilities in the day-to-day operations of gas handling molten salt test facilities
- Provide test result summaries to program leads and system stakeholders
- Support training development for new operators in tritium handling systems and lab equipment operation
- Experience in operation, testing, and maintenance of laboratory systems related to fusion fuel cycle and molten salt technology development.
- Ability to build new capabilities in the day-to-day operations of gas handling molten salt test facilities.
- Experience in developing test plans and commissioning procedures for complex systems.
- Proficiency in integrating completed systems to bring them to a fully operational state.
- Ability to independently complete job assignments in support of facility commissioning testing.
- Experience in providing test result summaries to program leads, including Tritium and Blanket program leads, Director of Fuel Cycle Blanket Technology, and Test Manager.
- Experience in leading or contributing to major system test campaigns.
- Ability to support training development of new operators in tritium handling systems and operation of balance of plant general lab equipment.
- Compliance with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information.
- Willingness to work onsite at Commonwealth Fusion Systems facilities.
