About The Role
We’re looking for an Interconnection Manager for a 1-year contract assignment. The role involves actively participating in generator interconnection processes at the Mid‑Continent Independent System Operator (MISO) and the Southwest Power Pool (SPP). You will oversee the full life cycle of development and construction of projects, managing application filing, queue management, system impact study review, and agreement negotiation. You will report to the onsite Manager and support growth projects, including diligence for M&A and greenfield projects.
LocationJuno Beach, FL. Hybrid/remote considered.
Key Responsibilities- Power systems background with an understanding of transmission planning and NERC reliability standards.
- Experience with steady‑state thermal/voltage, short‑circuit, transient stability using industry‑analytical tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, Power
GEM TARA, TSAT, and ASPEN. - Understanding of the planning processes within RTOs/ISOs and Transmission Providers, especially relating to baseline reliability planning and generator interconnection studies.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external SMEs to complete comprehensive studies.
- Understanding of transmission policy and regulatory issues related to generator interconnection.
- Provide solutions for technical transmission issues for development projects and current assets.
- Manage generator interconnection application process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate with ISO/RTOs, developers, and utility companies to facilitate seamless interconnections.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the generator interconnection process.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to inform strategic planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience and working relationship with ISOs (preferred MISO and/or SPP) or local utilities in a role related to generator or load interconnection agreements, utility and ISO interconnection study methodology, criteria, business practices, and transmission planning with focus in grid reliability.
Estimated base salary range: $40.00/hr to $45.00/hr the position may qualify for benefits including comprehensive health and income protection benefits, a 401(k) savings plan, and paid vacations for qualifying positions.
