About the role
Transmission Line Principal Engineer – 1‑year contract assignment (W‑2) for the transmission generation tie lines for Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage, and stand‑alone transmission line projects. The role is located in Juno Beach, FL 33408 and falls within the Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group.
Responsibilities include managing the design of transmission line projects from conception through construction and commissioning. Engineering consultants perform line design under the direction of the Principal Engineer.
Key Responsibilities- Work in the conceptual phase with the Early Stage Project Manager to define and influence project requirements and scope.
- Coordinate with project team members to develop and secure routes, support engineering data, and obtain necessary permits, including geotechnical and lidar data.
- Source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services; support the E&C Cost Estimating Team with scope assumptions.
- Represent E&C’s internal and external interests on assigned projects, presenting progress, issues, and risk mitigation in meetings with multiple levels of management.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of direct experience in the design, engineering, and construction of high‑voltage transmission line projects.
- Knowledge of transmission line design.
- Technical competence in understanding one‑line and three‑line diagrams, general arrangements, plans, profiles, and other common deliverables.
- Travel required within North America.

Base salary range: $65.00/hr to $70.00/hr (dependent on experience, qualifications and skills).
