Medical Billing Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Brockton, Massachusetts, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of medical billing operations while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities:

- Process and submit medical claims accurately and in a timely manner to ensure smooth billing operations.

- Review and analyze patient accounts to address discrepancies and resolve billing issues.

- Collaborate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to verify claim statuses and payments.

- Utilize EPACES and other billing systems to manage electronic submissions effectively.

- Conduct follow-ups on outstanding claims and collections to secure timely reimbursements.

- Ensure compliance with medical billing regulations and maintain accurate documentation.

- Provide support in coding procedures to ensure proper categorization of medical services.

- Assist in the preparation of reports related to billing activities and financial performance.

- Communicate with patients to clarify billing inquiries and address concerns.

- Maintain updated knowledge of industry standards and insurance policies to optimize billing practices. Requirements - Proven experience in medical billing, coding, and collections.

- Familiarity with EPACES and other electronic billing systems.

- Strong understanding of medical claims processes and insurance regulations.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Effective communication abilities for interacting with patients and insurance providers.

- Ability to analyze and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently.

- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding procedures.

- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and up-to-date billing records.
