Senior HR Generalist
Job Description
Department: People & Culture — HR, Recruiting, Training & Development, Benefits, Compliance Reports To: Chief People Officer (CPO)
Direct Reports: Two HR Coordinators (store-level HR support)
Scope: Corporate seat supporting all Vicente’s store locations.
Location: Based at Corporate / Brockton, with regular travel to all store locations
The Senior HR Generalist is the CPO’s hands-on partner for the day-to-day people operations that keep every Vicente’s location running — with recruiting as a primary focus, alongside HR administration, benefits, training logistics, and compliance, across all stores.
Supervisory ResponsibilityDirectly supervises two HR Coordinators, who provide store-level HR support (recruiting logistics, onboarding paperwork, store-level bench mapping, and day-to-day associate questions). This role assigns and reviews their work, consolidates their store-level input into company-wide processes (e.g., the master bench chart and org charts), and develops them toward broader HR capability as the team grows.
- Own full-cycle recruiting for corporate, back-office, and store-level roles company-wide — sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination.
- Partner with store managers and department directors on their store-level hiring needs
- Build and maintain community and vendor partnerships as an ongoing talent pipeline, particularly for new-store openings and hard-to-fill roles.
- Own and maintain the company’s online application system — uptime, payment/upgrades, and preventing lost applications.
- Pull and distribute the weekly applications report, split by store location.
- Post corporate and back-office roles in our ATS system and boost across Indeed and other boards, coordinating with managers and directors on active needs.
- Schedule and coordinate interviews for corporate-level roles.
- Build and run the evergreen requisition pipeline and standing interview panels, so recruiting is continuous rather than opening-driven.
- Track recruiting pipeline status and report weekly to the CPO.
- Process new hire paperwork and maintain personnel files across all store locations.
- Review time & attendance and punch corrections to support payroll close.
- Maintain accurate employee records — status changes, pay changes, transfers — company-wide.
- Prepare Verification of Employment letters as needed.
- Process terminations and separations; confirm the correct process was followed before approving.
- Run monthly bench evaluations per store location, consolidating store-level mapping into a master bench chart; schedule the review with the CEO and Director of Retail Operations.
- Partner with the CPO to coordinate training logistics for associates — registration, travel, lodging, and expense authorization.
- Manage enrollment and offboarding, including benefits, for all associates company-wide.
- Partner with the CPO to manage unemployment claims across both the EZ People system and the state UI portal, ensuring store-level teams respond accurately and on time — handling directly when needed.
- Partner with the CPO on ACA and other regulatory compliance tracking, escalating gaps or exposure as they're identified.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations concerns raised by associates or store leadership across all locations.
- Conduct workplace investigations — gathering statements,…
