Azure Cloud Specialist & Software Integration About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an innovative international medical technology organisation that develops software solutions used by healthcare providers globally. As part of a growing R&D function, they are looking for an experienced professional who combines expertise in healthcare systems integration with strong Azure cloud governance and infrastructure skills.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex interoperability challenges, working with hospital IT teams, and ensuring secure, compliant cloud operations within a regulated healthcare environment.

The Role

You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting integrations between medical software applications and Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems while also managing critical Azure cloud governance and infrastructure services.

Working closely with internal teams, customers, and healthcare IT stakeholders, you will help ensure secure, reliable, and scalable solutions that support clinical workflows and healthcare interoperability standards.

Key Responsibilities Medical Software Integration
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert for EMR/EHR integration projects
  • Support pre-sales activities by advising customers on integration capabilities and workflows
  • Design, develop, deploy, and troubleshoot healthcare integrations using Next Gen Mirth Connect
  • Manage customer connectivity and interoperability requests
  • Develop integrations using healthcare standards including HL7 and FHIR
  • Collaborate with hospital IT teams and third-party EHR vendors
  • Support integrations with leading EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, testing records, and validation documentation
  • Provide advanced technical support for integration-related issues
Azure Cloud Governance & Infrastructure
  • Manage Azure governance, security, compliance, and monitoring services
  • Administer Azure identity and access management, including RBAC, PIM, MFA, and Entra
  • Implement and maintain cloud automation using Dev Ops and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
  • Monitor cloud environments for security, performance, compliance, and cost optimisation
  • Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Maintain key vaults, secrets management, and credential lifecycle processes
  • Support governance auditing, monitoring dashboards, and reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to cloud security and operational excellence
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure infrastructure, administration, or governance
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure Dev Ops or equivalent CI/CD platforms
  • 3–5+ years of experience in healthcare software integration, EMR/EHR integration, or interoperability projects
  • Hands-on experience with HL7 and/or FHIR standards
  • Experience working with REST APIs, SFTP, SQL, and systems integration technologies
  • Experience developing and supporting integrations using Next Gen Mirth Connect
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience working directly with customers and healthcare IT stakeholders
Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Azure administration and governance
  • RBAC, PIM, MFA, Policy-as-Code
  • Azure Dev Ops and CI/CD pipelines
  • Bash, Power Shell, and Python
  • REST APIs, SQL, and SFTP
  • Mirth Connect development and deployment
  • Experience integrating with Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or other major EHR platforms
  • Mirth Connect certifications
  • Knowledge of IEC 62304 medical software development processes
  • Experience with in regulated healthcare or medical device environments
