Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our client in Brockton, MA. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with metal stamping equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing machinery to minimize downtime. This role is responsible for maintaining equipment, performing preventive maintenance, supporting machine setups, and ensuring safe, efficient production operations.

• Diagnose machine breakdowns and equipment performance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, and equipment inspections.
• Replace bearings, bushings, belts, chains, gears, couplings, and other mechanical components.
• Perform shaft alignment and machine leveling.
• Complete machine setups and tooling changes.
• Independently perform die setups, die alignment, and adjustments to feeds, guides, and stock handling equipment to keep presses operating efficiently.
• Troubleshoot misfeeds, double hits, part quality issues, and mechanical or basic electrical problems.
• Fabricate simple replacement parts as needed using shop equipment.
• Align work‑holding devices and maintain machine accuracy.
• Understand press tonnage limits, tooling wear, tolerances, and inspection methods.
• Ensure machine guarding and safety requirements are met at all times.
• Operate a sit‑down forklift safely when required.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience maintaining and repairing metal stamping punch press equipment is required.
• Experience operating grinders, lathes, and other machine shop equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
• Forklift experience (sit‑down) preferred.
