Production Control Manager - Norfolk County MA

An established manufacturing company is looking for a Production Control Manager to oversee planning and scheduling, inventory accuracy, material flow, and on‑time delivery for production. This person will be in charge of driving operational efficiency, leading an operations team, and working cross‑functionally across core manufacturing and commercial functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage production planning and scheduling to meet delivery and performance targets.
  • Track and distribute performance metrics against plan for key operational items.
  • Prioritize and expedite material flow across departments using matrix management.
  • Conduct capacity and staffing analyses to support operational planning.
  • Oversee repairs and maintenance prioritization for tools, equipment, and gaps in production to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels, ensure accuracy, proper tracking, and improved lead‑times.
  • Lead product planning forecasts and prepare scheduling reports for production and customer service meetings. Collaborate with internal teams to provide updates and customer support.
  • Manage and develop team members, including training, performance reviews, and adherence to guidelines.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support production and inventory operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or GED/High school degree + professional experience.
  • 5 years of experience in production planning, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management practices.
  • Experience supervising or leading team members in an operations environment.
  • Ability to identify operational bottlenecks and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
