This is a client-facing position focused on bringing systems online, verifying functionality, and ensuring successful project delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and development teams to commission Ignition-based BMS and EPMS solutions, perform field testing and troubleshooting, and provide technical support during system turnover and go-live activities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys travelling, working directly with customers, and seeing projects through from implementation to final handover.

Travel: Approximately 50-60% throughout North America (with occasional international travel as required).

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy and commission Ignition SCADA systems for mission-critical data centre applications
  • Perform point-to-point verification of graphics, alarms, trends, control sequences, and field devices

  • Validate Perspective projects, HMIs, dashboards, and visualisation platforms in live environments
  • Work alongside commissioning teams to ensure systems meet design and operational requirements
System Testing & Validation
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system performance validation
  • Verify communications between SCADA, PLCs, databases, historians, and third-party systems
  • Test alarm management, trending functionality, data collection, and real-time system performance
  • Identify and resolve interface, communication, and display issues during commissioning
  • Ensure system functionality across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms
Customer Support & Project Turnover
  • Provide hands‑on support to customers during startup and go‑live activities
  • Demonstrate system functionality and conduct operator training sessions
  • Assist customers through acceptance testing and turnover procedures
  • Troubleshoot issues in live operational environments and coordinate resolutions with engineering teams
  • Build strong client relationships through professional onsite support
Documentation & Quality Assurance
  • Document commissioning activities, test procedures, and validation results
  • Maintain accurate records of field modifications and as‑built conditions
  • Generate punch lists and track issue resolution through project completion
  • Support the creation of customer turnover and closeout documentation
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Ignition SCADA, including Ignition Perspective
  • Experience commissioning, deploying, or supporting SCADA, BMS, EMS, EPMS, or industrial automation systems
  • Strong understanding of SCADA architecture, visualisation systems, alarms, trends, and HMI functionality
  • Experience working with PLCs, industrial communication protocols, and system integration
  • Proven troubleshooting skills in live production environments
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and customer‑facing skills
  • High attention to detail with a structured approach to testing and validation
  • Willingness to travel up to 60%
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel throughout North America
Safety Requirements
  • OSHA 10 certification (completed within the last two years)
  • Candidates without a current OSHA 10 certification will be required to complete training during onboarding
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with data centre, critical infrastructure, or mission‑critical facility projects
  • Knowledge of SQL databases and industrial historians such as Canary or Ignition Historian
  • Experience with MQTT and modern industrial communication technologies
  • Understanding of cybersecurity, user role management, and access control within SCADA environments
  • Experience supporting large‑scale commissioning or construction projects
