Job Description
The Quality Inspector sits at the end of an assembly line and works closely with machine operators to ensure every product meets established quality standards. In this role, you perform visual inspections, package and palletize finished goods, and coordinate with shipping to move products efficiently through the production process. You will primarily perform seated, repetitive tasks while rotating between different assembly and operating lines as needed.
Responsibilities- Perform detailed visual inspections of products at the end of the assembly line to verify they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Partner closely with machine operators throughout the shift to monitor product quality and address any issues promptly.
- Package finished products, including taping and securing items, to ensure they are ready for shipment.
- Palletize products accurately and safely, organizing them for efficient transfer to shipping.
- Collaborate with shippers to coordinate the movement of finished goods from production to the shipping area.
- Move between different assembly and operating lines as needed to support production and maintain consistent quality.
- Maintain focus and accuracy while performing seated, repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Follow all established manufacturing, quality control, and safety procedures while working on the production floor.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by communicating clearly with operators, shippers, and other team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting with machine operators and shippers.
- Comfort working in a primarily seated role performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail to perform accurate visual inspections and identify quality issues.
- Good overall work history and demonstrated reliability in previous roles.
- Willingness to work 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM) or 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) as scheduled.
- Experience or familiarity with inspection, quality control, manufacturing, warehouse, general labor, assembly, or production environments.
- Previous packing experience is a plus.
- Prior manufacturing experience is beneficial.
- Warehousing experience is an advantage.
- Comfort working in a unionized production environment with opportunities for progression.
- Openness to overtime as needed to support production demands.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based on a large, well‑lit, climate‑controlled manufacturing floor. You will primarily work seated at the end of an assembly line, performing repetitive tasks and rotating between different lines as needed. The environment involves close collaboration with machine operators and shippers in a production and warehouse setting. Steel‑toe footwear is required as part of the dress code, and overtime may be available based on production needs.
Shifts include 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM) and 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM).
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicopee, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.24 - $22.74/hr.
