Job Description Position Summary

The Tool & Die Supervisor / Tooling Design Engineer to provide technical and supervisory leadership for Tool & Die activities across multiple company manufacturing platforms, facilities, product lines, and processes. This position will retain hands-on responsibility for tooling design, CAD modeling, engineering drawings, tooling troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while ensuring consistent tooling standards and practices across the organization. The position will support fastener manufacturing, cold heading, cold forming, stamping, thread rolling, and related metal-forming operations.

General

Requirements
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Experience w/metal stamping punch presses
  • Experience using grinders, lathe, etc. helpful
  • Ability to read blueprints & use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc)
  • Light electrical experience
  • Operate sit-down forklift
Other Details
  • Diagnose machine breakdowns and performance issues
  • Replace bearings, bushings, belts, chains, gears, and couplings
  • Shaft alignment and machine leveling
  • Lubricate systems and preventive maintenance
  • Machine setup and tooling changes.
  • Independently perform die setups, die alignment, adjusting feeds, guides and stock handling equipment. Keep presses running
  • Troubleshoot misfeeds, double hits and par-quality issues. Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical problems. Ability to fabricate simple replacement parts.
  • Understanding press tonnage limits and tooling wear.
  • Understanding of tolerances and inspection methods
  • Align work holding devices
  • Understand machine guarding requirements
