Schedule24 Hours, Nights, Every Other Weekend. Part‑time, benefit eligible.
Position SummaryUnder direct supervision of the assigned Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant performs patient care activities, caring for personal needs and comforts of patients, addressing the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly as well as accommodating a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential victims of abuse. The assistant incorporates knowledge and understanding of patient rights, exceptional care and the hospital’s values and mission into performance of job duties while maintaining patient privacy & confidentiality at all times.
RequiredKnowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Effective communication in English with staff and patients
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timeliness and provide exceptional patient care
- Compassionate, empathetic, and responsive to diverse patient needs
High school diploma or equivalent.
ExperienceMinimum 1 year as a nursing assistant or a matriculating student in a nursing program who has completed “Fundamentals of Nursing I & II.”
Certification / LicensureValid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or proof of enrollment in an accredited nursing school with completion of the “Fundamentals of Nursing I & II.”
Software / HardwareComputer experience is preferred. CPR certification required.
Compensation$17.62 – $26.18 per hour, based on qualifications.
