Under the direct supervision of the assigned Registered Nurse, performs a variety of direct patient care activities including attending to the personal needs and comforts of patients. Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly and accommodates a variety of impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential victims of abuse. Incorporates knowledge of patient rights, exceptional care, and the hospital’s values and mission into all duties of the role.

Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Effective communication in English with staff and patients
• Ability to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timeliness and exceptional patient care
• Compassionate, empathetic, and responsive to diverse patient needs

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Experience as a nursing assistant strongly preferred

• Valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or proof of enrollment in an accredited nursing school with completion of "Fundamentals of Nursing I & II"
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

• Computer experience preferred

Hourly range: $17.62 – $26.18. Pay is determined based on education, experience, licensure, and other factors.
