Position Summary
The Nursing Supervisor is a professional nurse responsible for coordination and supervision of patient care on multiple nursing units during evening, night, and weekend shifts. The role works closely with Clinical Managers and other staff to ensure high‑quality, timely service to all patients.
Responsibilities- Serve as a role model, providing clinical direction to staff.
- Demonstrate expertise in the nursing process and evaluate care provided by nursing personnel.
- Ensure high‑quality, cost‑efficient patient care by making appropriate staffing decisions.
- Manage human resource functions within the Nursing Division and the Hospital to promote harmonious employee relations.
- Act as the on‑site hospital representative accountable for coordinating operational and administrative activities during evening, night, and weekend shifts.
- Participate as a member of the Nursing Leadership Team.
- Plan and direct Nursing Division activities to comply with policies and procedures and achieve divisional goals.
- Establish and maintain interdisciplinary communication and cooperation.
- Promote a positive image of the Nursing Division and Boston Medical Center.
- Demonstrate commitment to personal career growth and development.
Education:
- Diploma, ASN or BSN degree (BSN preferred). Must be able to obtain BSN within four years.
- 5+ years of staff nurse experience, including charge nurse responsibilities.
- Leadership experience required.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills necessary to oversee care for patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics.
- MA RN license, BLS, and ACLS required.
- Willingness to be vaccinated against COVID‑19, flu, and receive a booster dose of the COVID‑19 vaccine.
