Position Summary
Boston Medical Center Health System is seeking an experienced Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding Hospital Medicine team at BMC South. This role is designed for an advanced practice provider who thrives in a fast‑paced inpatient environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
Schedule & WorkloadShift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM. 7‑day on / 7‑day off. Average admissions ~8 per day. MD supervision available on‑site. Support team available for transitions.
Responsibilities- Perform admissions from the ED and direct transfers.
- Conduct comprehensive histories and physicals.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute medical conditions in collaboration with attending physicians.
- Develop and implement patient management plans.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, case management, specialty consultants, and ancillary staff.
- Provide clear documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and care optimization programs.
- Master’s degree as NP or PA from an accredited program.
- Current Massachusetts NP/PA licensure.
- National board certification.
- Minimum 1–2 years of inpatient or hospitalist experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Excellent communication, organization, and patient‑care skills.
