Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned, performs a variety of direct patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient. Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly as well as accommodating a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential victims of abuse.
Incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, exceptional care and the hospital's values and mission into the performance of job duties. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Provide direct patient care and support personal needs and comfort.
- Address diverse patient needs across age groups and impairments.
- Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective communication in English with staff and patients.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timeliness and provide exceptional patient care.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and responsive to a variety of patients.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a nursing assistant preferred.
- Valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or proof of enrollment in accredited nursing school and completion of "Fundamentals of Nursing I & II."
- BLS from American Heart Association.
- Computer experience preferred.
- CPR certification.
Compensation Range: $17.50 - $26.00 per hour.
