BMC South

Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned, the care assistant performs a variety of direct patient care activities to attend to the personal needs and comforts of patients, from infants to the elderly. The role integrates knowledge of patient rights, the hospital’s values, and mission into daily duties while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Effective communication in English with staff and patients
• Ability to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timely, exceptional patient care
• Compassionate, empathetic, and responsive to the needs of diverse patients

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience as a nursing assistant strongly preferred.

• Valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or proof of enrollment and completion of “Fundamentals of Nursing I & II.”
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

$16.99 – $25.24 per hour.
