Registered Nurse – Emergency Department, 36 Hours, 11a-11p with rotating weekends.
About the Emergency DepartmentThe Emergency Department at Boston Medical Center – South is the frontline of urgent care, providing immediate, life‑saving services to over 65,000 patients annually. As the only designated Level III Trauma Center in the region, the department delivers specialized care in trauma, cardiac, stroke, pediatrics, and behavioral health. Advanced technology, including EMS integration through Twiage, and a dedicated nursing team ensure rapid, high‑quality treatment for a wide range of acute conditions.
Job SummaryAs an RN in the Emergency Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional patient‑centered care. You will work within a supportive nursing organization and be responsible for delivering the high quality care our patients deserve.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care in the Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
- Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records.
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
- Experience:
3 to 5 years of Emergency Department experience required. - Education:
Nursing degree required—diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years required. - Certification/Licensure:
Active Massachusetts RN license and BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.

$38.10 to $77.63 per hour—this range is an estimate based on minimum job qualifications and considers education, experience, licensure, and certifications.
