- As an RN in the Med Surg units, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care.
- Using our patient‑centered care model, you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization to provide high‑quality care to patients.
The Medical‑Surgical units at BMC South are vital to delivering comprehensive inpatient care for a diverse patient population. These units, including Post‑Surgery, Orthopedics, Orthospine, Bariatrics, and Hospice beds, form the backbone of the hospital’s acute care services, managing patients with a wide range of medical and post‑surgical needs. Across all Med‑Surg units, nurses and interdisciplinary teams provide evidence‑based, patient‑centered care, focusing on recovery, stabilization, and discharge planning.
As a central component of the hospital’s continuum of care, the units support patients through various stages of illness and recovery, ensuring safe transitions to higher levels of care, rehabilitation, or home.
- Deliver nursing care in the department, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education.
- Communicate with various health‑care team members, patients, and their families.
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- Update and manage patient records.
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality‑improvement projects.
- Education: Nursing Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within four years required.

Certifications:
Current RN MA license, BLS required. - Experience: Prior acute Med/Surg experience strongly preferred in a hospital setting.

$38.10 – $77.63 per hour. This range is an estimate based on minimum qualifications; actual base pay is determined by education, experience, licensure/certifications, and other factors.
