Under the direction of Prof. Leila Agha, the Research Assistant (RA) will help coordinate the daily operations of research related to applied microeconomics focusing on health care, innovation, and Medicare policy. Project topics may include studying the variation in diagnostic efficiency across hospitals, and studying geographic variation in maternal health outcomes.

• Assist with literature reviews, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and research management.
• Work closely with faculty mentors and other members of the research team.

• One or more years of related research experience. Higher education may count towards years of experience.
• Proficiency in using statistical software such as STATA, R, and/or SAS.

• Background in statistical programming (competency in STATA, R or SAS) and a basic understanding of econometrics or statistics.
• BA or BS, preferably in a social science field such as economics, statistics, or public policy with a quantitative focus.
• Interest or experience in health care research.
• Proficient with common computer software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Independent judgment, patience, and excellent communication skills.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Calm and cooperative attitude during periods of increased activity.

• One‑year term position from the date of hire, with possibility of extension based on performance and funding.
• 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Harvest day for hiring decisions may involve a pre‑employment screening for identity and criminal records.

• This role may be performed at a non‑Harvard location if necessary; the work schedule and location will be set by the department based on operational needs and compliance with university policy.

• Salary grade level 053.
