Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Overview

Progressively contribute to a distinctive and delightful customer experience while supporting pharmacy operations in accordance with state and federal regulations. This role includes customer service, cashier responsibilities, and pharmacy assistance under supervision.

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on the assigned cash register and provide courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service; recommend items for sale and trade-ups/related products.
• Handle customer transactions, including processing purchases, returns, exchanges, voids, refunds, and rain checks; assist customers in locating products.
• Maintain clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves; manage inventory and pricing as directed; assist with prescription filling and workflow support for the Pharmacy Manager/Staff Pharmacist.
• Report prescription errors immediately and comply with company policies and the Quality Improvement Program; adhere to the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Handle duties related to pharmacy operations such as order processing, third-party claims, and clerical tasks as assigned.
• Assist with inventory management and store asset protection; ensure compliance with state/local laws for regulated products; maintain displays and conduct merchandise resets as directed.
• Support separation of food items, stock rotation, and proper product placement; maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment.
• Provide photo area services, including digital passport photos and promotional photo products; support web pickup responsibilities and order fulfillment.
• Assist with store cleanliness and appearance; comply with company policies and respectful coworker relationships; complete assignments as requested.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state-required certification/registration.
• Attends training, completes requested continuing education, and maintains knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
