Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

Overview

A Technician Trainee will receive hands‑on and classroom training to become a Safelite‑certified auto glass technician. Upon completion trainees earn the Safelite Safe Tech certification and gain the skills to perform unsupervised glass repair, replacement and recalibration.

• Be paid to learn and apprentice using the Safelite method.
• Observe and assist with auto‑glass installation, repair, and replacement.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
• Provide additional services and products to customers.
• Study and pass certification testing to become a Safelite‑certified technician.
• Operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals safely.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Comply with all company policies and standards.

• Competitive weekly pay: $23.50/hour during training, $27.75/hour after certification.
• Earn $5 for each set of wiper blades added.
• Potential promotion within the first year based on performance.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, stand for extended periods, and work in tight spaces.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, motor vehicle operation, and computerized diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work outside in varying weather and temperatures, and with chemicals, including flammable substances.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and ability to maintain a professional appearance.
• Strong communication skills in speaking and writing in English.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and adhere to quality standards.
• Willingness to adapt to flexible scheduling and perform duties as required.
