Salary NotesThis position is designated as a Union position. All new hires must start at the entry level rate for this role per the collective bargaining agreement/MOA with OPEIU, Local 6. Pay may advance within the salary band according to the CBA/MOU.
About the DepartmentThe Facilities Management and Capital Planning department manages and maintains 62 state-owned courthouses and 42 leased facilities across ten counties of the Commonwealth. The Department provides effective property management, facility operations, facility renewal, and quality customer service in support of the administration of justice throughout the Commonwealth.
Notes- Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 am–2:00 pm.
- Licensed as a plumber, HVAC technician, or electrician is required.
- This position is considered essential personnel in certain emergencies and may require work outside of regularly scheduled hours, including staying late or coming in early.
- This position will be open for three weeks.
Installs, repairs, alters, maintains and tests existing heating, venting, air conditioning (HVAC) equipment or electrical or plumbing systems. Maintains mechanical equipment and building infrastructure to ensure safety and uninterrupted facility operations. Uses central building insight system to track facility needs and ensure safe operations.
Supervision ReceivedWorks under the direction of a Facilities Systems Supervisor.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities For Electrician- Tests, repairs, installs and/or maintains various types of electrical systems and equipment using appropriate tools to ensure proper maintenance and functioning.
- Troubleshoots electrical and related equipment by reading schematics, diagrams and outlines to identify and correct operational problems.
- Provides preventative maintenance to equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Maintains an adequate inventory of equipment and materials.
- Schedules and escorts contractors.
- Cooperates with Facilities system personnel on electrical systems and power consumption.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Installs, repairs, alters and maintains existing HVAC equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoots HVAC equipment and systems.
- Runs standard tests to determine whether finished work meets specifications.
- Inspects facility to determine the need for maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment.
- Establishes priorities and makes recommendations concerning work activities.
- Maintains courthouse building and grounds.
- Provides preventative maintenance to equipment, machinery and tools.
- Repairs, installs and tests multiple systems and equipment.
- Orders motors, parts and equipment.
- Schedules and escorts contractors.
- Works with Engineering on efficiency and power consumption.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Installs, repairs, and alters plumbing systems.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, instructions, or layouts to understand construction work to be done.
- Schedules installation, maintenance, and/or repair work by conferring with supervisors and other department personnel.

- Establishes priorities and makes recommendations concerning work activities.
- Provides preventative maintenance to equipment, machinery and tools.
