We’re Hiring:
Lead Accountant (Fully Remote | EST)

We’re partnering with a growing firm that provides bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory services to SMBs across the U.S., and they’re looking for a Lead Accountant to join their team.

This role goes beyond accounting. It’s a project management + leadership position where you’ll oversee the day-to-day execution of work across multiple client accounts while guiding and supporting Associates.

You’ll be responsible for delegating, tracking, and ensuring completion of deliverables
, making sure deadlines are met and nothing falls through the cracks — all while maintaining strong client relationships.

• Manage a portfolio of 8–10 client accounts as the main point of contact
• Own full-cycle accounting (AP/AR, reconciliations, GL, reporting)
• Delegate, review, and oversee the work of Associates
• Hold team members accountable for deadlines and deliverables
• Ensure workflows are on track across multiple clients
• Lead client communication and build strong relationships
• Support onboarding and system integrations (Quick Books, payroll, POS, etc.)
• Proactively identify and solve issues before they elevate

• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Required: Strong experience in a Client Accounting Services (CAS) or outsourced accounting environment
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of multiple clients (ideally 8–10+) as the primary point of contact
• Strong bookkeeping fundamentals (reconciliations, AP/AR, GL, month-end close, cleanup/review)
• Experience delegating and reviewing work from junior team members
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Highly proactive and detail-oriented

Note:

This role is specifically focused on outsourced accounting/CAS environments. Candidates coming primarily from in-house accounting, FP&A, tax, or audit backgrounds may not be the best fit.
