Position: Receptionist Wednesday-Friday E/O Saturday 7a-7p

Overview

Responsible for performing reception duties in an efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures, and as directed by your supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and follow reception schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.

  • Operate paging/telephone system as required.

  • Answer telephone, determine nature of call and relay information within the facility as necessary.

  • Receive inquiries and release information in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a current file/list of residents by name and room number, emergency phone numbers of on-call personnel, department extensions, key personnel, etc.

  • Receive a request from within the facility and locate personnel through paging system.

  • Maintain a current listing of crucial residents and/or residents who may not receive phone calls due to their condition.

  • Give directions/information to visitors, guests, and residents, etc.

  • Reports suspicious persons/information to supervisor immediately.

  • Ensure guests abide by existing rules and refuse admission to persons as directed.

  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to ensure resident's rights are protected.

  • Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when operating office equipment.

  • Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible.

  • Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions to your supervisor immediately.

Marginal Functions
  • Assist with administrative duties as directed.

  • Ensure administrative supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.

  • Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as approved.

  • Ensure that work areas are neat, clean, and office equipment is covered before leaving areas, on breaks or at the end of the workday, etc.

  • Other related duties may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or Administrator.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.

EXPERIENCE - None required. On the job training provided.
