Compensation:
Up to $48,000 annual salary, based on education and experience.

The Administrative Assistant II is responsible for providing administrative support for program area and support functions, or serve as an assistant to, or provide administrative support to an administrator or an official. Duties may include supervising an administrative unit, managing a program providing services to agency customers, and supporting application processing for permits or licenses, maintaining records, preparing correspondence, and performing other administrative activities.
Key Responsibilities- Train other staff
- Assign projects to staff and develop procedures
- Initiate correspondence requiring agency knowledge and policies
- Develop and maintain confidential or complex files
- Interpret and advise customers on departmental rules, regulations, and laws
- Prepare invoices, payments of claims, requisitions, purchase orders and other fiscal duties
- Supervise subordinate staff as required
- Represent agency at meetings, conferences, or civic organizations
- Coordinate activities with internal and external customers
- Establish educational and training programs
- Interview callers, arrange appointments, and handle office details
- Enter and retrieve information using computer systems; review and correct documents
- Travel may be required; position covers district wide if needed
- Being present at the office is an essential function
Demonstrate knowledge of and support the mission, vision, values, policies, procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior. Work effectively in a team environment, participating and assisting peers.
Minimum QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor’s degree plus one year of technical clerical, administrative, secretarial, or general office work OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
One year of technical clerical, administrative, secretarial, or general office work.

Valued Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of spelling, punctuation, business English, and business mathematics
- Knowledge of modern office methods and procedures, maintaining complex records, and major policies governing assigned programs
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships, handle confidential work, interpret and handle routine matters, and follow oral and written instructions
Work is performed in an office setting. Requires sitting, standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. Daily use of computers and phones. Being present at the office is an essential function.
